About this film

This film focuses on two carved wooden panels by Hone Ngatoto at Perth Museum & Art Gallery which are typical of the type of panels made for a Maori community meeting house in New Zealand. Depicting ancestors of the woodcarver, they were made to ward off evil spirits and connect people to the past.

This is one of a series of films made in collaboration with young people across the UK, who explore and express their views on sculpture in public collections.
