Artist, born in Glasgow, who studied at Kingston Polytechnic, 1984–5, and then graduated from Goldsmiths’ College with honours, 1985–8. Took part in Art Pace International Artist’s Programme, San Antonio, Texas, America, 1997, with a Sargent Fellowship, British School at Rome, Italy, 1998, and a residency at Kamazawa Art Academy, Japan, 1999. Group exhibitions included Poetic Figuration in the Eighties, Lauderdale House, 1988; The Return of Ulysses, English National Opera, 1989; and Next Phase, Wapping Pumping Station, 1990. Her work was included in the exhibition of sculpture and installations Sweet Home, originated by Mostyn Art Gallery, Llandudno, and tour, 1994. In 1996 she filled the Wapping Pumping Station with an installation of ice, salt, steam and light, in 1997 creating an installation for the lawn of the Serpentine Gallery, in 1999 one for Sadler’s Wells.
