The Anglo-Polish Organisation was founded in 2007 to provide social and practical support to the Polish community of Devon. We run excursions, organise social events and offer practical support to Polish-speaking people as well as provide information to the statutory bodies across Devon who help them.
The Anglo-Polish Organisation has been involved in researching issues surrounding migrant workers in the South West. Volunteers of the organisation were also involved in salvaging the remains and documents from the recently demolished Polish Resettlement Camp of the Second World War, located at Stover outside Newton Abbot. It is from the salvage operations of Stover Camp in 2009 that the folk paintings in our collection were saved.
