Bernard Prevost was the son of Jean Prevost, an adviser at the Parliament in Paris and président aux requêtes. Bernard followed in the footsteps of his father, becoming himself président aux requêtes when his father resigned and gave him the charge. Bernard was then président à mortier at the Parliament from 1563. Documents confirm he died on 22nd September 1585, aged 68. He was married but did not have any children. He and his wife were buried in the Célestins church in Paris.
