Printmaker, painter and teacher, born in London, was married to the artist Judy Stapleton. He studied at Willesden College of Art, 1951–6, Slade School of Fine Art with Lynton Lamb and Ceri Richards, 1956–8, and at Brighton College of Art, 1958–9. Was a member of the Printmakers’ Council of Great Britain, taught at Brighton College and at London University. Victoria & Albert Museum, Towner Art Gallery in Eastbourne and several American museums hold his work. Solo shows included Pallant House, Chichester, 1995, with a painting retrospective at White Gallery, Hove, 2001. Lived in Brighton, Sussex.
