Painter, draughtsman, printmaker and teacher who studied at Reigate Art School, 1966–9. She taught part-time in adult education and various community-based projects. Clarke moved to Cwm Prysor, North Wales, in 1981, in 1984 opening Oriel y Ddraig art gallery with her husband in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Gwynedd, where they then lived. The Welsh landscape became an important feature in Clarke’s work. She was a member of NS, Free Painters and Sculptors, Printmakers’ Council and Association of Artists and Designers in Wales. Took part in many group and joint shows. Had a solo show at Fairfield Halls, Croydon, in 1978, later ones among several dozen that followed including Hereford City Art Gallery, 1992. The City Museum there holds her work.
