Draughtsman, painter, collagist and teacher, born in Wednesbury, Staffordshire. After studying at University of Durham, 1956–62, she taught at Reading University’s School of Fine Art, 1964–72. Further teaching followed at Slade School of Fine Art and Goldsmiths’ College School of Art. Donagh participated in a number of influential group shows and had a first solo exhibition at Nigel Greenwood in 1972, showing thereafter. In 1977 had retrospective at Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester, and tour. Arts Council holds her work, which was often of a highly experimental nature, drawing on inspirations as diverse as police photographs of nightlife in New York; an Irishman killed in Dublin by a car bomb; and the American writer of Walden, H D Thoreau.
