More about

Wandsworth Museum was, until March 2015 based at 38 West Hill in Wandsworth. The museum provided access to the Wandsworth Borough collection, which focuses on the local history of the borough and objects which are representative of the lives led by the people of Wandsworth. In April 2016, Wandsworth Museum united with Battersea Arts Centre, following a year of transition during which time staff and operations moved out of the West Hill site. Wandsworth Museum and Battersea Arts Centre have united to provide an exciting new programme of culture and heritage in South West London, with Battersea Arts Centre as custodians of the Wandsworth Borough Collection. Under the new banner of the BAC Moving Museum, the new heritage offer will seek to protect and promote the borough's rich social and political history and work is currently being developed. The BAC Moving Museum will move around the BAC building and around the borough, working in partnership with local libraries and historical societies to engage local communities with the collection and the built and natural environment of their borough. We will seek to stir emotions, stimulate imaginations and foster a strong sense of place through our new heritage offer. Please be aware that the collection is not on display at Battersea Arts Centre. For further information about this new offer, please visit our website.
